You should check with Immigration Department for detail in this case.

On a unrelated issue (it was election issue at that moment), the Court has determined, even you are studying aboard, your time outside Hong Kong may still count towards residency.

So you may qualify (or not).

however, in the past 5 years,i had been came back to Hongkong for holiday, at least 1-2 time in every single year and stayed in hk from minimun 2 weeks to maximun 2 months.
