when doing pull downs, rows, etc., why do i only feel the burn in my arms?

i want to work my back more, but whenever i do back exercises the burn isn't in my back but in my arms. am i not doing it right, or does it just take a while for the burn in the back to kick in?

thats because you are probably using your arms more than you should... if you focus on using your back/lats then you will feel the burn there more and probably be able to lift more weight because the lats are a far larger muscle than any of the muscles in your arms.
