I'm confused over "among" & "amongst".
how do these 2 words differ and please give
some sample sentences.

"among" and "amongst" are exactly the same in meaning. Both words mean the same thing, but “amongst” is the older form and is more commonly used in Britain than in the US. It's now considered archaic and overly formal or even pretentious.

So, it's better to use "among" in most situations except perhaps you're writing a poem.

Is it truly safe to walk amongst the peasants, my lord? (Old English / very formal)

Discuss it among yourselves first. (common use now / both formal and informal)
