Relative adverb usage?

I would like to ask a question about the usage of relative adverb

I know that sometimes we can use "when", "where" and "why" instead of relative pronoun + preposition to make a sentence less formal.

For example,
1) This is the park where we played.
2) Tuesday is the day when we have pizza for dinner.
3) Our teacher told us the reason why we study grammar.

However, I've seen some similar sentences which contain no "the park", "the day" and "the reason"
a) This is where we played.
b) Tuesday is when we have pizza for dinner.
c) Our teacher told us why we study grammar.

I wish to know which expression is correct. My teacher taught me that "where we played" is an adjectival clause to modify its antecedent "the park" and "why we study grammar" modifies "the reason"

Does it mean the example above a, b, c are incorrect. But I really read them on newspaper a lot.

Thanks in advance.

First of all, I've never heard it said that this use of relative adverbs is less formal than another construction. Your sentences 1-3 seem to me to be standard English.

Your sentences a-c are also standard English as I understand it, but the clauses without the nouns "the park" etc. that they used to modify are now noun clauses rather than adjective clauses, the complements of "This" and "Tuesday" and the direct object of the verb "told."

slightly confusing yet no longer too a lot so. that is yet another rationalization that would help. the position is many times used once you communicate about the position the position you actual did something or something occurred. The cafeteria is the position the position I eat. you actual do something -- eat there. chuffed Park is the position the position I performed even as i turned right into a baby. you probably did something there -- you performed. enormous Mountain is the position the position the avalanche occurred. something occurred there. on the different had once you employ that you're only talking about the region itself, no longer about what occurs or what you probably did there. The cafeteria, that's next to the gymnasium, is closed right this moment. you're literally not talking about what occurs there. you're only talking about the progression itself. enormous Mountain, that's 2000 ft severe, is gruesome. back -- no longer what occurred there. you're only talking about the mountain. the domicile it quite is next to mine is pink. you're talking about the progression, no longer what occurred interior. wish this helps.
