According to dictionary.com :

find out means ; to discover or confirm the truth of (something).

discover means ; to see, get knowledge of, learn of, find, or find out; gain sight or knowledge of (something previously unseen or unknown)

They are very similar in meaning, you'll find that many thesaurus have different interpretations of what the synonym of any word is.

Go to dictionary.com , then there should be a thesaurus option up the top, I find this site very reliable.
