I livein Hong Kong. – Simple Present – to show thepresent situation in general.I am livingin Hong Kong. – Present Continuous – the actualsituation Frankand Betty went to Parislast year. – Simple Past – the action is finished – last year.Frankand Betty have been to Paris.– Present Perfect – action is done but no specific time. Shesmokes when she gets home. – Present Simple – that is the usual habit.Shewill smoke when she gets home. – Simple Future – an intention She wassleeping when he knocked on the door. – Past Continuous + Simple Past – the longaction has started and it was continuing. Simple Past - the short action that happens in the middle of the long action.
