For 小小, B1/B2 Travel Visa can be used for short-term courses if the course meet certain requirements.

For Edmond, B1 is still a Travel Visa (but for business use only). In Hong Kong, the U.S. Consulate approves B1/B2 together...

In answering your questions:

What you should do is simply tell the truth - ask the employer to provide a vacation notice for 1 month (duration of the course and trip).

When asked, simply tell the Officer that you are going to study a short-term course (with document proof - remember even the school does not provide anything official, like I-20, you will still have some documents or brochure to prove the course enrollment).

What you are scare about is valid. However, the consequence of lying is worse than what you are scare - as you can be banned from the U.S. for life.

By the way, you still apply B1/B2 Travel Visa.

it is ok you study a short term course in US school. a lot of Chinese movie stars did that too. and then come back to show off to HK fans......

the address you file can use hotel address. ( come on, that is just a official document, any real address will work. )

PS. remember don't carry too much luggage with you. few weeks vacation won't need to bring the whole year supply.......ccc

Training is part of the purposes of the B1 VISA. To improve your chances to get approval, you should bring the material of the training course. If your company is happy about you to go for this training, ask your company to write you a letter about how this training could help you in related to your current job. Or even said it is training requested by the company.

你個 case, 一定唔會批. 你只可當旅遊. 否則一定唔比你去.

如你有工作, 預備好公司放假信. 加 autopay 出糧証明. 最好有物業証明. 冇都出示一下住址証明之類. 銀行信, 稅單, 存摺......越多越好.

跟住話自己去旅行. 佢最少都批個 3個月 visa . 夠時間比你讀短期課程.

美國法律是明確禁止持美國旅遊簽證(B2簽證)的訪客在美國讀書的，移民局規定外國人想來美國讀書，必需先獲學生簽證；持觀光旅遊簽證進入美國的外國人，是不能轉換為學生簽證的。

所以應循正途申請B1短期培訓簽證，以免日後被列入黑名單並驅逐出境。

為何你不申請學生簽証？若果當地學校已取錄你既話，你根本無需申請旅遊簽証直接申請學生簽証啦﹗

其實旅遊簽証都可能簽你10年…不過你年紀不大就應該可能唔批咁多甚至乎唔批。
