A hockey puck moves towards a hockey player from the right at 15 ms^-1.The player targets at the opponent's net and applies an average force of 80 N to the puck for 0.10s. The mass of a puck is 0.25 kg.

Find the speed of the puck after impact.

Use the relation: impulse = change of momentum
hence, 80 x 0.1 = 0.25 x (v - (-15))where v is the final velocity of the pucksolve for v gives v =17 m/s
