請問英文customer和client的分別?

There is a difference between client and customer.

A client is a person who pays a professional person or organization for service and advice.
e.g. 律師, 會計師的顧客

A customer is someone who buys goods and services from a shop, company.
e.g. 超級市場, 餐廳的顧客

Typically, a business relationship is formed with clients, whereas that isn't necessarily the case with customers. Employer and employees of the shop and company do not need to know the names of the customers, but not in the case of lawyer and accountant.

Client depends on the protection of another. For example, A client is under the lawyer's or accountant’s protection.

Calling the client as a customer is offensive.

由此可知凡是買東西的人，不管買的是貨品或服務都可以是customer，client廣義上也包括了customer。而在現實生活中，人們通常對這兩詞的認可是（不排除有例外的情況）：customer是指購買貨品的人；而client是指購買或接受服務的人，像律師、會計師、銀行、醫生、理財顧問、保險經紀、房地產經紀等的客戶。
