How can I improve at soccer?

I'm a freshman, and I've been playing soccer since 2nd grade, but I'm not like really good like I want to be. Soccer is my very favorite sport! I can dribble, but I can't go at full speed without losing control. I know a couple soccer tricks, but not many. How can I be the best I can be. And I'm already on a team. But it's outside of school because our school isn't cool enough to have soccer because they think track is more important, yeah....Right! Haha, but I can't do too much right now because the weather is *REALLY* bad lately where I live. I was thinking maybe I could be getting in shape by running, but I'm not sure where unless I suck it up in this below zero weather lol. Well thanks :)

PRACTICE! that's really all you can do :) I know you said its freezing and I'm NOT gonna say wear a coat an suck it up! try finding a nearby gym or just big open room you could practice ball-handling skills in.

go on YouTube and look up ball-handling skills for soccer. most of these are standing still so you could do them for 5 mins in your house!

initially, do not EVER permit someone inform you that football skillability is usual. definite, a few humans can most effective get so well... however when you REALLY desire it sufficient, you'll be able to truthfully upgrade plenty. sure, it is agiven to excercise, however because you are already a well runner, i am guessing that is now not an limitation, haha. except being in form, the excellent means i have discovered to upgrade at football (like as in ball-dealing with) is to deliver a football ball with you EVERYWHERE you'll be able to. i am not joking haha. round your condominium, external to your backyard... some thing you'll be able to do to train touches at the ball, DO IT. watch as a lot well football as you'll be able to. seeing all of it at complete velocity can rather support you have an understanding of what works and what does not. additionally, do not be afraid to check out new matters. check out a few tips, dribbles, ANYTHING... simply get a few forms of publicity. HOWEVER... none of this may increasingly paintings if you do not experience it. supply up to you desire again. and continuously attempt to have a well time doing it :]

Watch the game. Check out and study Barcelona on a regular basis pay attention to xavi and iniesta (if you pay attention they aren't that fast but rather calm, composed, and creative with the ball. If you play on D watch puyol and pull up old clips on youtube from rafael marquez before his injuries, for me one of the best on ball positioning and anticipating also great vision to create from the back field. None of these players are known for great athletic ability or ball handling skills. You don't need to have the ball handling skills of ronaldinho or ronaldo. Play smarter. Learn to make good decisions and if there's anything you have to have down is touch on the ball. Unless, however, you play up front and i'd absolutely recommend getting faster and of course getting faster.

I know what you're going through. Practice will help obviously. But beyond that and running, dribble a ball around the house (if possible) and focus on the small things that make pros really good like, core/ab work, diet, focus, visualization, and strength. It's all about how good you want to be. If you spend an hour a day with a ball at your feet then you're going to get better.

If you love playing soccer, keep doing what you do, even if your not that good. I know youve heard this a million times before, but its the truth. Practice, practice, practice! And when your not practicing play, play, play! To help with your ball control play small sided games, it will really help your dribbling and touch on the ball. Another helpful tip is to play with adults at
The park. Theyre probably big, fast, and strong. When you get used to playing with them, playing
With your age group will be a piece of
Cake!

If you have a nearby gym or workout place you can try to go there to work out or talk your parents into getting a treadmill (but that might be kinda hard). You can also life weights get your upper body stronger that is a big part too. For foot skills i have a mini ball (size 1) that i dribble around the house a lot also there is futsal which is soccer in a gym with a weighted ball. You could get a bunch of friends and try playing that to stay in shape and work on foot skills.
