The zinc nitrate solution can be easily obtained by reacting excess insoluble zinc compound such as zinc carbonate or zinc oxide with nitric acid. The pure zinc nitrate solution can be easily obtained after filter out the excess zinc compound. But in the case of NaCl, sodium oxide, hydroxide and carbonate are all soluble in water, so sodium chloride can only prepared by titration method
