My arguments are as follows:
1) When someone is unfortunately infected with such mental illness in losing meoory, he would even not aware what he has done in his golden age. If he did not remember what he has contributed to the society, what knowledge he has acquired before, there is no meaning to discuss whether he should tribute for his track record: The reason is he has no intention doing so.
2) No matter how much knowledge he has learnt, we do not know whether his career is happy or not. If the answer is negative, a memory lost is simply the best way for him to escape from the awful experience and turn the painess into happeniess. It is a fact that the persons losing memories are in general happier than before.
3) There are large millions of people highly educated in the world. Losing a few older persons with mental problems would not have great impact on the growth of the nations. The surrounded persons need not feel regret too much, for this is a natural health devastation of humans. They are still alive, only with forgotten memories.
4) If one believes the God would bless all people, then they would regard such health changes as a compulsory process set by the God and no matter how worse it is, the person would come to the heaven and enjoy joyness after death. They should not feel sorry about it. The God would arrange everything for them.
Hope I have answered the question.
