Dear Lucy, I am glad to know that you have won a major singing competition recently. I think you deserved the award as I remember that you sing very well. All of our classmates showed appreciation to your agreeable voice. Well, I know you are facing a problem dilemma between getting in a police cadet program and signing a recording contract. Being your good friend, I am willing to give you some advice. To begin with, I sympathize with the problem you are having and I know that it is hard for you to accept either the place as a police cadet or a recording contract. First of all, I share your concern. I would say you are such a courageous and righteous girl that you won’t stay silent on unfairness and crime in the society. On the other hand, you love singing so much. How difficult it is to choose! If I were you, I‘d rather be a policewoman because it is really challenging. Although it is dangerous by nature, you can take up the duties of keeping public order and preventing crime. Well, to tell you the truth, Police is my hero, they save many victims at their own risk. Also, they help people to resolve conflicts. Ask yourself. How satisfied it would be for helping those in need? You are very suitable to be a policewoman and it would be so regrettable for missing this chance. Do you want to help the needy? Do you want fewer conflicts and unfairness in the society? If so, you should join in the police cadet program. Here is my little advice. Follow your heart and make your best decision. Last but not least - hope you have a prosperous career path no matter of your choice! Yours faithfullyChris Wong
