Is the truth a cliche?

I think the real question is.....Is the truth actually the "truth"?

A cliche is a trite or overused expression.

...so, are you saying we need more lies in our lives, because truth is an overused trope?

Please, clarify and return.

I think people use "truth" and "honesty" interchangeably.

Someone can be honest, but that might not be an objective truth.

There is a Zen saying that says something along the lines of if it is not cliche its not the way to Truth.

In objective things, the truth is the truth; a verifiable fact. In subjective things- ie; "you are ugly"- it's totally dependent on variables, and isn't the truth at all except to those who agree, which still makes it only an opinion. Then you come to politicians, in which case almost all truth becomes illusion and nothing labeled as truth can be determined to really mean anything.

As for being a cliche, it depends on when and how it's applied.
