= (m-n)[2(m-n) - 1]
= (m-n)(2m - 2n - 1)
2.(a) Let x be the no. of teachers, then the no. of students is 8x.
The no. of female students = 3/7 * 8x = 24x / 7
The ratio of no. of teachers to the no. of female students
= x : 24x/7
= x/(24x/7)
= 7/24
(b) The no. of students
= 1260 * 8/9
= 1120
The no. of male students
= 1120 * 4/7
= 640
