Musical instruments sound by the resonance of air inside them.
What is that means? I only know that the sound produced by musical instruments is due to the formation of stationary waves in these instrument.

Sound is, in fact, vibration of air moleucles. The standing waves set up inside piped musical instrument are just rapid vibration of air molecules within the audible range of human ears. These vibrations thus transmitted and heard as a note with frequency determinted by the vibrational air pattern inside the cavity of the musical instrument.
