the rate of taxation is 5% for the first $10000, 10% for the second $10000, 15% for the third $10000, 20% for the fourth $10000, 25% for the fifth $10000 and 30% for the rest of the chargeable income.
so the rate of taxation is
first $10000= tax 500$
second $10000=tax 1000$
third $10000=tax 1500$
fourth $1000=tax 2000$
fifth $10000=tax 2500$
other=0.3x
from (a),we know that at least it is not more than $2000 tax.
iq he has not to pay the salary tax if his annual is more than 30000$
(first 10000$+second $10000+third x$)
tax 2000
=first tax $500+second tax $1000+third tax 500$
third tax of the rate
=500/0.15
=3333.3$,cor to the nearest 0.1$
the annual
=3333.3+20000+10000
=33333.3$
