The story took place in Holland many years ago. It was (A) dark stormy night. (THE) captain of a rescue team (拯救隊) in ( A) village received SOS signal from a ship off the coast. He immediately organized (A) rescue team. One volunteer was (A) young man of 16 called Hans. Just before (THE) rescue boat was sent, Hans’ mother came.“Please don’t go,” she said with tears in her eyes. “Your father died in (A) shipwreck (海難) 10 years ago and your brother, Paul has been lost IN (THE) sea for weeks. You’re all that I’ve got now.”“Please let me go, Mother,” Hans said in a firm voice. “If every one says ‘Let others do (THE) job’, those people who are in danger out there will have no chance at all.”He kissed his mother and left with (THE) other volunteers. Time passed. Then suddenly out of the darkness (A) boat appeared with Hans in the bow. “Mother,” he shouted at (THE) top of his voice. “I’ve found my brother Paul!”
