if only a further 100 calendars were sold after the price reduction and the rest were discard and the bookseller made an overall profit per cent of 20% , find the total cost of the calenders

Ans.Sales = $18 x 2/5 x100 +$8 x 3/5 x 100 = $720 + $480 = $1,200Let C = Total costs$1,200 = 0.2C + CC=$1,200 / 1.2 =$1,000The total costs of the calendars are $1,000; and the cost per each is $4 ($1,000/250)
