(1) Employer can't request applicant to submit a copy of Hong Kong Identity Card.

(2) In principle, employer should keep a copy of former employee’s Personnel File (or Employee Record) for at least five years.

Applicant = 申請者
Candidate = 候選人,投考者
I.D. stands for identification, 漏了 card字. Even I.D. card, 什麼I.D. card. 我想是香港身份證

第二句子,英文你漏了"資料", 我用Personnel File or Employee record, 內部有個人資料.
