On a table there are 12 balls of different colours. If 6 of the balls are put into a bag and one particular ball must be selected, how many combinations of balls are there?

If one ball must be chosen, then that means 5 more balls must be chosen from among the remaining 11 balls. There are 11C5 =462 ways to do it.
