Please to solve the following question:

In a stall game, the whole surface of a table is covered by square tiles of side 6cm as shown. A participant is asked to throw a metal disc of diameter 4 cm onto the table. If the disc does not touch the side of any square, he wins. If it touches a side, he loses. Suppose a participant throws the disc and it stays on the table, what is the probability that he wins the game?

Radius of the disc = 2cm
The centre of the disc must keep at least 2cm from each side of the tile,so that it will not touch the side.
Hence the centre lies in a 2cm x 2cm square on the centre part of the square tile.
Let there are totally n tiles.
Required probability
= (2^2 x n) / (6^2 x n)
= 4/36 = 1/9
