How do I open a lock without the key?
I locked suitcases with my things in it because my uncle whom I live with is known to just throw things away without asking. He once went to the room that i share with his daughter and threw away my unopened cans of clam chowder and two bags of chips (one barely finished and one that i just opened the day before). A few days ago,he threw away his daughter's clothes (and a romper she borrowed from me) in the garbage just because she left it on the floor of the bathroom. Anyways, I've been looking around the room for the wallet I kept my keys in and the yellow bag (that most likely had my college transcripts in it) I had in the room but I can't find them anywhere. I think my uncle or aunt may have thrown them away. Yesterday, I had to use scissors to cut through the suitcase so that I could open it (it was already ruined at the top pocket). I have another suitcase but I don't want to ruin it by cutting through it. How would I be able to open it without the lock's key?

Is it a padlock? If so, they are relatively inexpensive to replace if you wanted to cut through it with cutters.

Or you can try this pen trick:

1)Ask your uncle if he has indeed thrown your yellow bag with keys before cutting.
2) Ask yourself have you been messing up the place. if yes - tidy up!
3) It's better to find out what has gone wrong rather than blaming your uncle of being eccentric.

Once I couldn't find the key to a suitcase, so I thought about other tiny keys I had around the house--one to a clock, a china cabinet, some in a drawer that opened unknown things. I can't remember which, but one of them worked. Also try a straightened out paper clip.
