If they sign Beltre they don't even consider Pena...but he does remain a possibility. Pena is not yet a DH, because he still has a great glove, he definitely could go to the NL:

Overlooking the .196 average, Pena is due for a rebound...the Cubs might like him, or the Rockies as mentioned above. The Mariner's or the A's might also show interest.

I hope not. His numbers weren't that great last season.

I would rather see Boston sign Crawford and ink Beltre to a 3-4 year deal. Youk has been a consistent player and a great.

Keep beltre sign crawford and solidify the bull pen. That's what Boston needs. The bull pen blew a lot of games last season. If the bull pen had been a bit more dominate they might have made the post season I can think of 5-6 games off the top of my head the Bull Pen lost.

If he was smart he'd sign a 1 year deal with the Colorado Rockies (Todd Helton is retiring) to play 1B and put up monster numbers, then go back on the market off a big year.

The guy freaking hit 196, YES .196 avg last year in almost 500 ab. Who the hell would pay big money for that?

The Cubs will overpay for him!
