Genesis 1 (King James Version)
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

上面的God saw the light, that it was good，

這結構是不是正確？現在還有沒有人用？
連New King James Version也是這樣的。
有沒有人能提供多一點例子？

還有一個問題，就是comma能否取代and?

而New International Version, ©2010的版本是
God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
這和上面那句有沒有分別？
又可否提供這種結構的例子呢？

你要明白king james version是1611年的產物(跟沙士比亞的原者同期的英文)，除了聖經學者(研究)或是文學(研究)，裏面的句式和用詞都不是今日的英文。

new king james只是把一些古英語字改為現代字，文法句式基本不變，保持文學上的風格。

niv是以現代英文譯的，所以用來學英文作文和寫法都可以的。

其實三個version的這句意思上都沒有分別，只是不時代的英語寫法不同。

那個comma 用and 取代，反而更複雜：God saw the light and that it was good, and God divided...不是能，而是不好。參考niv實際簡化了句子的結構，不用把light和it重覆加多子句。這跟不同年代人處理用詞和話語的格式有著大關係。
