Let the side of the square is x cm long. Then V=x(10-2x)^2dV/dx=2x(10-2x)(-2)+(10-2x)^2
Set dV/dx=0
=>2x(10-2x)(-2)+(10-2x)^2=0
=>4x=10-2x
=>x=5/3
The value of the maximum volume is (5/3)(10-6/5)^2=73.984 cm^3
