I shutter to think what the fans would do if Hank doesn't sign the face of the franchise. As a life long Yankee fan I would be extremely disappointed. As it stands right now Hank is ready to offer 3 years at 50 million while Jeter want 5 to 6 years at 20 million a year. We all know that, at the end of the day, both sides will meet in the middle. They have to or there will be a lot more Mets fans in New York come the beginning of the 2011 season.

Jeter should sign with NY, but if he doesn't both Jeter and the Yanks lose. Jeter is a NY Icon, and should never wear another uniform

They wil sign him, if not then the Yankees will find another shortstop and lead off hitter. Derek Jeter will look for retirement. Ask yourself this....Who else will pay Jeter the money that the Yankees will? This is why I truly believe that the Yankees will sign him

If the Yankees don't sign Jeter then it's Jeter's fault for asking for too many years and/or too much money.

Frankly, i do no longer see why any baseball fan could hate him. everyone talks approximately how scuzzy Bonds is and how Bradley has a foul character and how Schilling talks to plenty and on and on and on. There are each and all of the PEDs consumers and corked bat consumers and on and on and on. Then baseball gets an extremely reliable guy for a transformation. So what does everyone do? They positioned him down. they think of they're cool, yet you spot the difficulty. there is not any beautiful them. provide the guy his due. The play at residing house plate against Oakland, the sprint into the stands on the foul pop-up, the oftentimes being a great guy rather of a whiner or a cheater. . .suck it up and only the two like him or no longer say something. i like him effective. Baseball could desire to apply extra like him.

Babe Ruth retired. Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, ... too. Someone took their place. Someone will take Jeter's place. I guarantee there will be a shortstop out there on opening day...

They will sign another shortstop and Jeter will take a section (not just a page) out of the New York Times to "thank" Yankee fans for paying his salary while he walks away with more money.

Jeter and the Yankees will agree on a contract and they will do it in the near future. Jeter IS the face of the New York Yankees and the Yankees are Derek Jeter. They will come to a mutually agreeable contract.

If the Yankees don't sign Derek Jeter it would be because Jeter was asking for too much or the yankees messed up the negotiations. It is a scary thought but the yankees will sign him.

Then Nunez will be the SS and I think he can hit .270. The Yankees are a business and should make their choice based on putting the best team on the field.
