Why there are two verbs in a sentence?

Why not?

[What really interests me] is the subject (S) of the sentence. It's a noun phrase.
S + are those lovely places.

I like [what you like].
[What you like] is [what I like].

[That you asked this question] is good.

"Those lovely places" are "what really interests me".
