memory games work well, as well you can have spelling memory games, or games which require matching the word to the picture, i used physical activity to encourage children to memorize the flashcards--for example, you can go down the slide if you can tell me what's on the card, you can have word association games, show them the card and ask them to free associate english words with the card... cat, fur, claws, teeth, soft, purr,etc..., you can use the cards in sentence building, if you have both verb and concrete noun based flash cards you can use them to do madlibs, you can build stroies from the cards, or use them to make simple sentences, give the kids a set of cards and allow them to arrange them in a specific order to create a sentence, it helps to give them crazy things to do this with--baby, giraffe and eat... if you are working with korean kids, it is important to remember that their object and verbs are backwards from ours, so you can use the cards to help them remember to put them in the correct english based order.... you can describe the card and give them to the child that gets the answer correct from the description, you can have races, time the students on how fast that they are able to name all of a given set of cards, you can set up teams and give the cards to them as point based on which team names the card first...
i could go on here but they are really just variations on a theme...
bottom line... be creative, the materials are just a means to an end...
