Red Sox Fan, Who do you want to sign in the Free Agent this year?

I'm thinking the same thing for the most part. My choice for outfield is Crawford for sure. His speed and hitting is exactly what the team needs at the top of the order along side Ellsbury. I also support an offer for Werth. His power and HR hitting to right field fits right in at Fenway. Bullpen arms for sure, but I'm thinking a new closer as well. Ever heard of Soriano from Tampa Bay? Now to Beltre. We don't need him. If we can't find another in Free Agency, move Youk to third and platoon 1st with V-Mart/ FA signings. He's never produced well after signing a long term deal following a break out season. I'm all for him getting a big check, he had a big year for us last season, but it's too big of a risk. We still have plenty of power in the lineup without him and he didn't field like a gold glover last season anyhow.

Beltre isn't gonna accept 2 years, he wants to be locked in longer. He'll get it too.

I think they should let em walk (Beltre and Martinez) since they are both gonna ask fr too much and trade fr Adrian Gonzales and move Youk to 3rd.

I don't like Crawford or Werth, I think they are both over valued. Werth is 31 and is very streaky and Crawford is a very expensive Ellsbury-lite and you all ready have Ellsbury.

Carl Crawford will going to sign with the Boston Red Sox in December of 2010.

i would say crawford over werth. i feel werth is gonna be another drew. he had a few ok years in philly but i think that if he goes to boston he will put up numbers like in la and for drews money. crawford at least is good defensively and can be a force when he gets on base.

Who do I WANT? I want Cliff Lee, Carl Crawford, Scott Downs, V-Mart, and possibly Beltre. Werth would be nice if Crawford doesn't work out. Who do I think is more reasonable? Werth, maybe Downs, and some trade activity for Uggla (to play 3rd), Adrian Gonzalez (offseason or by trade deadline), and maybe another catcher if V Mart goes elsewhere. Lots of possible scenarios out there. Their egos are too big to accept missing the postseason 2 years in a row now, so they're going to do whatever they can to give them the best chance to win.
