Don't Ask Don't Tell?
I keep reading news stories implying that Republicans are to blame for not repealing Dont ask Dont Tell. Can someone please enlighten me here. Who has been in charge of the White House, the Senate and the House?
So who is to blame again? I guess i just need some basic instruction here.
I am sure one of you good liberals can explain it to me gently.

The Democrats only lost the 60th seat when Scott Brown was elected. They had it for a year. They could have done it then
I haven't read any lately blaming the Republicans. I'm not saying they aren't out there. I have however read a few that implored the Democrats to repeal DADT during the lame duck session before Republicans take over the House. Because it is unlikely that Republicans will repeal it.
Otherwise, blaming Republicans for not repealing it while the Democrats have controlled Congress and the White House since taking over in January 2009 is asinine. Talk about misplaced blame! If what you say is true, then that is just more proof (amongst a mountain of evidence) of liberal bias in the media. Which there is no shortage of.
@Bob: That's assuming all Republicans in the Senate will follow the party line lock step and key. There are a number of liberal Republicans in the Senate. Like Both senators from Maine (Snowe and Collins) and Brown from Massachusetts, for example. I could easily see them siding with Democrats on DADT.
And filibuster is a tactic both parties use often. It isn't exclusive to or used more often by Republicans....
Well noone really knows, sorry this isn't that much of a help, but maybe you should research the topic
To all liberals, I love George Bush!
Have you ever heard of the filibuster? This is when a a minority party at least 41 senators vote against cloture, preventing the bill from being debated. They also talk the entire time. 60 votes break a filibuster. The defense authorization bill was filibustered by 41 republicans and 2 Democrats so the bill was not even put up to a vote.
George Bush! is the blame and the liberal republicans that put him in charge Bush mastered the Art of Trickoromitry and Mind over logic skills
you are right. its funny... because even most gays are republican. for some reason people think we are democrat. trust me, we are smarter then that. obama wont do **** for us and its much better with a republican in. although republican isn't the answer either.
I'm a liberal (though I'm not Democratic nor Republican because both parties are full of liars) but there were 59 democrats and 41 republicans, and the republicans might have filibustered it, causing it to need 60 votes to pass. And republicans filibuster a lot.
