First of all, you need to know what ID3 tag is. ID3 is a metadata container most often used in conjunction with the MP3 audio file format. It allows information such as the title, artist, album, track number, and other information about the file to be stored in the file itself.

You can either use a free ID3 editor or iTunes to add artist names , album names to the MP3 files. Once you input the information, your music library will be better organized.

I’ll take iTunes as an example. In the music library, highlight (by a left click) and right click the song that you want to add artist names and album information. Select “簡介”(I am using a Chinese version so I don't know the exact English term) and click the “資訊” tab and an information box will appear. Fill in the information by inputing the artist and album names. Click “確認“ and sync the song to iPhone.

In iPhone, open iPod and choose artist. Select the artist and you’ll find all the songs under the same artist. Or select the album and will can view all the songs under the same album.
