Dear Mr.\ Ms. XXXX,

I wish to inform you that as from the beginning of next term, I shall not be able to continue my studies in school. This is because my father can no longer to afford to send me to school as he has been out of employment for nearly a year.

I shall have to find a job myself to help support my family. My hope is that sometime in future when circumstances permit, I shall be able to return to school to continue my studies. At that time, I hope you will give me a chance and not turn me away because I shall be overaged.

In conclusion, I wish to thank you and all the teachers for the kindness and guidance I have received in all my years at school. You may be sure that even though I am leaving YYYY School, I shall never forget our school motto and I shall forever try to lead a good and useful life just as you have always taught us.
