WHAT IS DOG

Dogs are a kind of animal while we human love to keep them as pets.

There are quite a lot of species (品種) such as sheepdog (牧羊犬), poodle (貴婦狗／捲毛狗), hound (獵犬), beagle (小獵犬), golden retriever (金毛尋回犬), mastiff (大型馴犬／獒犬), mongrel (唐狗／雜種狗), & so forth (等等).

In general, dogs have short or long hairy (多毛的) skin with certain different colours like white, black, brown, or mottle (雜色). For the dogs with smaller size, sometimes, they bark even louder and fiercer (更兇惡).

In the past, people usually kept the dogs for the sake of watching at the door. By now, in the metropolis (大都會), we instead (反而) serve (看待) dogs as a companion (良伴) or a friend. In particular, there is the trained police dogs for the narcotics (軟性毒品) detection (偵查) or patrol (巡邏) work by taking advantages of their excellent smelling function.

As a matter of fact, with their characteristics (特徵) of obedience (服從), loyality (忠誠), and intellience (智能), dogs become more and more popular as a pet. In the meantime, due to the thoughtless (輕率的) decision of owning (擁有) a playmate (玩伴) rather than respecting a life, the problem of street dogs (流浪犬) have also been created by us. Hence, to keep a dog, or a whatever pet, it should always be a lifelong commitment (承諾), no matter they are sick, or they get old and weak.
