Differs from the real society, teenagers are confronting a virtual online world on internet; not only does it satisfy us with our needs of different knowledge, it also gives a wider imagination of relationship between people, without undertaking any pressures or responsibilities like we have to in real life. This unique characteristic of the internet causes teenagers to indulge in this non-realistic environment rather than facing the real life. Accessing the internet without a limit will have a great impact on lives; some might even abandon their studies for it.

When youngsters get addicted to the Internet, they are detached form the reality and some of them tend to give up studying. Different from the real world, youngsters are facing a virtual environment which can satisfy their need for getting information efficiently, and create the room for imagination when it comes to interpersonal communications. They do not have to bear the responsibility as in their real lives.

With these “virtual” characteristics, youngsters tend to get intoxicated and indulged in it instead of the real world. Staying online without self-control will greatly affect their daily lives including academic performance.

Conclusively, I believe that the Internet is a convenient tool for gathering useful information for working, studying and living. Given that the Internet is not a must-have for every aspect of our lives, and if we can make the best use of it but not overindulging, it is indisputably a great helping hand in our modern society.
