in an inclined plane, mgcosθ=R

They are of completely different situations. The angle θ has different representations in the two situations. It represents the angle of incline in the inclined plane case, but represents the angle makes with the vertical in the circular motion case.DO NOT REMEMBER FORMULAE BLINDLY.
