一雙鞋的代名詞

很榮幸能為您服務，若有任何疑慮請寫信給我，小弟自當盡力而為： a pair of shoes 的be動詞要用is, 例如: a pair of shoes "is" beautiful
那如果我要用代名詞來表示要用什麼來代替?
是: a pair of shoes is beautiful. "It" cost me 100 dollars.
還是: they cost me 100 dollars? a pair一雙、一對(由兩個組成的一個單位) 視為單數two pairs、three pairs、many pairs…(兩雙以上…) 視為複數<比較>The pair of shoes is beautiful. "It" cost me 100 dollars. à It = The pair (of shoes)，cost為過去式動詞(若是現在式動詞則用costs) The shoes are beautiful. "They" cost me 100 dollars. àThey = The shoes 還有長度跟寬度是應該用is 還是用are?

<比較> 這條河寬10米、長300英里。(以第一句為佳，第二句次之)The river is 10 meters in width and 300 miles in length. à長度跟寬度都不是主詞，與動詞單複數無關，主詞是這條河，動詞用is The river is 10 meters wide and 300 miles long. à wide形容詞，修飾名詞10 meters，同理long用法一樣 The width and the length of the river are 10 meters and 300 miles.à主詞是這條河的寬度與長度(兩種) 視為複數，動詞用are 那如果是 the shoes is 30 "centimeter" 的 centimeter 要是複數形嗎?à只要不是剛剛好1公分(1 centimeter)，其他都要加s 0.5 centimeters、1.8 centimeters、2 centimeters、12 centimetersà簡寫成cm或CM一律不加s，0.5 cm、1.8 CM……à本句應改成The shoes are 30 centimeters. ～供您參考並請指教～

It cost"s" me 100 dollars. 動詞忘了加s了.
手癢, 來補充一下,
所謂的長度,寬度, 如果是直接用度量衡的單位作為主詞, 動詞要用單數動詞.
例如:
20 kilometers is a long distance for walking.
主詞雖然是複數kilometer"s", 但動詞卻要用單數.
因為"20公里"是視為"一段距離", 是一個整體, 所以視為單數.
