有時遇到一些WORD.不知道PASSIVE OR adj

I was born in Berlin in 1989.

born 可以是 adj , 也可以是bear 的PP.

born 是 passive or adj?

she was dead?

dead 是 passive or adj , die的 + PP

dead 是 adj or die +pp.

怎樣可分辨 這些句子是否 passive or adj
更新1:

✔ 最佳答案
I was born in Berlin in 1989.
在這句 'born' is used as a verb and it would only in the passive form,
not the pp of bear.
bear 的pp 是borne

多讀多寫就會好d。

BORN 是 verb, only in passive form without by.
舊的 Grammar 書籍, 將 born 列為 past participle of the verb “bear”
Bear 有兩個 past participles, 是 borne, born

My mother bore me in Berlin. (是 active voice, 句子怪異, 沒有人這麼說)

Born 可以做 adjective, only before a noun.

He is a born leader. (born is an adjective).

Bear, bore (past tense), bearing (present participle), borne (past participle)

Bear (verb) 另外一個解釋, 生孩子(give birth to a child).
e.g. She has borne him ten children.

DEAD 不是 verb, 不是 die 的 past participle.
Dead多數是做 adjective, 可以做 noun or adverb.

Most dead and injured had been the passengers on the bus. (dead is an adjective)

The road was dead straight. (dead is an adverb)

The past participle can be used in passive voice as well as an adjective. Normally you can tell because the “by somebody” is placed right after the past participle.

The bank manager was shot by the robber. (passive voice, the verb shot is past participle)

The robber shot the bank manager. (active voice, the word shot is past tense)

Past participle can be used as an adjective, usually before a noun.

That girl comes from broken home. (broken is an adjective)

How can you mend a broken heart? (Pop  group Bee Gee’s song, broken is an adjective)
