Question 1
Which of the following statements about 25 cm3 of 0.1M ammonia and 25 cm3 of
0.1M sodium hydroxide solution are correct?
(1) Each of them requires 25 cm3 of 0.1M hydrochloric acid for neutralization.
(2) They turn methyl orange indicator yellow.
(3) They have the same pH value.
A. (1) and (2) only
B. (1) and (3) only
C. (2) and (3) only
D. All of them
Question 2
Solution X Solution Y
Volume 30.0 cm3 50.0 cm3
Concentration 1.0M HCl 0.6M CH3COOH
Which of the following statements concerning solutions X and Y is correct?
(1) Solution X has a higher pH value than solution Y.
(2) Solutions X and Y require the same amount of sodium hydroxide for complete
neutralization.
(3) pH paper gives the same colour when dipped into solutions X and Y.
A. (1) only
B. (2) only
C. (1) and (3) only
D. All of them
Question 3
Which of the following solutions can be mixed to give a neutral solution?
A. 50 cm3 of 0.1M hydrochloric acid and 50 cm3 of 0.1M sodium carbonate
B. 50 cm3 of 0.1M hydrochloric acid and 100 cm3 of 0.1M aqueous ammonia
C. 50 cm3 of 0.1M sulphuric acid and 50 cm3 of 0.1M sodium hydroxide
D. 50 cm3 of 0.1M sulphuric acid and 100 cm3 of 0.1M sodium hydroxide
Question 4
25 cm3 of 0.1M hydrochloric acid neutralizes exactly 20 cm3 of sodium hydroxide
and 20 cm3 ammonia solution respectively. This indicates that aqueous ammonia
and sodium hydroxide have the same
A. pH value
B. hydroxide concentration
C. degree of ionization
D. same molarity
2
Question 5
Solution A is 45 cm3 of 1.20M HCl and Solution B is 60 cm3 of 0.9M CH3COOH.
Which of the following statements concerning the two solutions is correct?
A. Both Solution A and B have the same electrical conductivity.
B. Solution A has a higher pH value than Solution B.
C. Both Solutions A and B require the same volume of 1M potassium hydroxide for
complete neutralization.
D. Solution B has a faster rate of reaction with marble chips than Solution X.

✔ 最佳答案
1. A
(1) is true.
NH3 + HCl ------> NH4Cl
NaOH + HCl ------> NaCl + H2O
both need same no. of mole of HCl as the no. of mole of each reactant is same.
(2) is true. both are alkaline, turning methyl orange to yelow.
(3) is false. they've different strength. degree of dissociation / ionization are different.

2. B.
(1) is false. hydrochloric acid is stronger than ethanoic acid; at the same time hydrochloric acid is more concentrated than ethanoic acid.
(2) is true. simple calculation.
(3) is false. go to (1).

3. D.
to be neutral,
- both acid and base are strong
- no. of mole of hydrogen ion = no. of mole of hydroxide ion
- also consider basicity.

4. D.

5. C.
refer to Q. 1 & 2.
