2) The question may be : If 187 apples are shared among m children, each child has n apples.If 36 oranges are shared among the same group of children,2 oranges will be left.Find the value of m.mn = 187 = 11 x 17m = 11 or 17 ,But 36 - 2 = 34 = 17 x 2 , So m = 17.
