Why am I so bad at driving?

I had gotten my permit for a little over a year now and I just started taking a driver's ed class.
Today was my first time driving in a street with traffic (not in a parking lot), and OMG!!
Apparently, I can't stay in the right lane, (either I'm too close to the parked cars or too close to the other lane). My turns and stops are too slow. I ran a few stop signs, and my driving instructor had to keep slamming on the break on her side...I slow down too much at turns and I break when I'm not supposed to.
Basically, I suck...
Then I missed a turn at an intersection and she started yelling at me! (soo embarrassing).
So anyways, she told me that I'm wayy behind all the others and I won't pass if I don't improve my driving =[ That would be a waste $500!!
I know I am HORRIBLE at driving, but isn't that the whole point of "Driver's Ed"? To learn how to drive??
We have 4 more weeks left of that class and I want to at last pass!
How can I make my driving good enough by that time? Also, my parents are really busy a lot of the time, so they can't take me out driving that often.
Please Help!!

Thank you in advance =]

Explain to your parents your struggle and perhaps they can make time, or find a trusted adult who can help you out...

Driving isn't difficult, but it does take some skill and being aware of your vehicle and surroundings...it's not odd to get nervous at first and to make mistakes...

Hang in there...remember to keep your vehicle in y our lane when you're driving the center of your car's hood should line up with the line (solid or dashed) on the passenger's side of the road...at EVERY intersection pay attention to what signs or signals are there, so you don't run them...running a stop sign (or traffic light) could result in an injury accident (or worse) so keep your eyes open so you can stop if needed...

Sounds like you just got nervous and that was it...you lost focus and weren't paying attention because you were so rattled and stressed about it...at times like that, stop and take a few breaths...

I'm in the same situation as you or even worst than you!
I took a one week course with about 35ish hours, and I suck at driving:(
I didn't even get to have a test in the end because I wasn't good enough!
Soo, after that I went to have more lessons with a new instructor, had about 6 now..
and still feel like a total idiot because I'm still working on the left turns and right turns!
I go too fast on them or I forget to change gear at times:( it's horrible not making progress!
the easiest manoeuvres probably is the turn in the road one, I'm SO bad at that....
This may be relevant but just telling you because I'm in the same situation:P
Lets hope we can get better at driving, I too have a driving test booked coming up in 2 weeks..
I might have to cancel it if I still do the same:(

4 weeks? Unfathomable! I learned to drive stick in a day! I guess all them hours on Need for Speed, and Gran Turismo helped! I recommend playing more PlayStation, it should help!
