my dog has complications what else can i give him instead of water and milk?

Complications from what? A dog has no need for milk, other than a puppy having it's mother's milk. Just water. If he's sick, take him to a vet.

Complications? Of what? Most adult dogs are lactose intolerant. If the dog is not eating do to illness, what does the vet suggest? How about boiled rice and a boiled meat mix(mild protein and fiber mix).

What sort of milk are you giving him? Never give cow's milk, most dogs tend to be lactose intolerant. Goat's milk is fine though.

A bland diet would be boiled chicken and boiled rice. Boil the chicken in a little water then mix the whole lot in to the previously boiled rice. If the dog's stomach is in a delicate state, then feed 4 small meals a day rather than 1 big one. As he starts getting stronger, you can start mixing in a little grilled liver to make the meal more interesting.

I don't know what complications you are talking about without more details but what I can tell you is that dogs can not tolerate cow's milk. All it does is gives them an upset stomach and digestive tract issues. So stop giving your dog milk.

Do you mean constipation? Some canned pumpkin will help... but not the pumpkin pie filling, the pure canned pumpkin.

If you mean complications from some kind of surgery, call the Vet who performed the surgery, she needs to tell you what to do. If you insist on giving milk, give your dog Goat Milk.. it has a lot of nutrients and is much better than cow's milk

Several things you can try and see which one he prefers:

glucose diluted in water fed with a syringe;
baby food;
congee -- boil rice in the ratio of 1:15 water for an hour. (bring to boil and then simmer). When it is almost ready put in minced meat for a little while.

Milk is not an easy food to digest for some dogs. Congee is soothing for his digesting system.
