Q: Why does the sucrose solution stop rising after a certain period of time ?
Ans 1. After a certain period of time, the force produced by the weight of the liquid column balances the force developed by the water potential gradient.
Ans 2. Because the hydrostatic pressure developed by the rise in water level inside the capillary tube increases the amount of water to diffuse out. Finally, the rate of influx of water becomes equal to that of outflux.

咁我想問 2. (基於上面的原因,) 從透析管滲透上去的水的速度會隨水位上升而跟隨上升, 最終水份滲入的速度與滲出的速度一樣 -- 淨滲入的水的體積為零, 水位亦不再上升. 點解水位上升會令到水既速度都上升? 係咪指個道滲入時既力? 跟住淨滲入的水的體積為零, 水位亦不再上升 呢個係咪指balance左之後既情況? 因為sucrose solution 仲有sucrose呢d大分子, 可以完全balance到既? 完全balance到唔係靜係得水勢相同, 即純水加純水進行滲透架咩?
