相對論我幾乎都搞不清楚
什麼時候是哪一個座標系觀察
拜託請解釋的詳細一點

Observers O and O' are in the relative translational motion with v=0.6c.
They coincide at t=t'=0.

(a)When five years have passed, according to O, how long does O calculate it will take a light to get from O to O'?

(b)When the light signal arrives at O', how much time has elapesd according to O' since O and O' coincided?

書上說第一題答案是7.5 years耶!! 是答案錯了嗎?? 其實我有點搞不清楚題目到底是問從t=0算起 還是從5年之後算起...??

a. For five years, O' is 0.6 X 5 = 3 light years away from O.

Let T be the additional time required for light to catch up O', according to O.

cT = 3c + 0.6cT

T = 7.5 years

So, according to O, 7.5 + 5 = 12.5 years have passed from t = 0 for light to catch up O'.


b. According to O', time elapsed slower than that elapsed in the reference frame of O.

So, time, T' = gamma X T

= sqrt(1 - 0.6^2) (12.5)

= 10 years
