I think you better decide what purpose you want to buy a DC first. Say, you are very demanding, looking for professional feature, then this budget is absolutely not enough even you buy a second hand DC. If you just want to have general purpose everyday use DC, I suggested you buy a lower price one. In my case, I wanted to have a DC with specification better than the build in camera inside my mobile is already meet my need. It cost somthing less than a thousand dollar, like $8xx. Brand name is Fuji buy from Fotomax, it have 3x zoom, marco, flash and 12.2 mega pixels. I am not photographer, but I put it in my hand bag everyday to work or outgoing. You may consider this DC, it is quite affordable, light weight, and very compact size(just like a box of playing card).
