名詞子句&形容詞子句20點

1.用that的形容詞子句
Bob lost the toy that he like best. (修飾先行詞toy，是對先行詞加以限定的修飾語）
Most pieces of factual writing contain a number of general ideas that are supported by details and examples.(修飾先行詞ides，是對先行詞加以限定的修飾語）

2.用that的名詞子句
That we accepted his apology made him feel better.(名詞子句當句子的主詞)
I know that you don't believe me.(名詞子句當動詞的受詞）
I am glad that he finally called you.(名詞子句當介系詞of的受詞，但因that子句不受介系詞管束，故of遭強制刪除，見朗文新英文文法p.578說明）
He made it clear that he disagreed.(名詞子句當delayed object延遲的受詞）
The fact that the car was out of gas left her helpless.(名詞子句當主詞fact的同位語，屬限定性質的同位語）
He has an earnest wish that he should go abroad.(名詞子句當受詞wish的同位語，屬限定性質的同位語）

注意：名詞子句當同位語時，不要將其誤認為是修飾語的形容詞子句。檢驗方式可用等號來看這個子句的內容與前面名詞的內容是否相等。相等的才是同位語的名詞子句。如：The fact that you were late again made me angry.中的you were late again = the fact，兩者內容相等，都是同一件事，所以是同位語。

Your pronunciation is the worst that I have ever heard.中的the worst (prnunciation)和I have ever heard是兩件範圍不同的事，一個是最不好的發音（屬唯一的），一個是我曾聽過的許多發音（屬複數的），兩者的範圍不同，不能加上等號，因為前者比後者範圍小。後者屬修飾語。

(A)有些連接詞引導的句子因為具有名詞的特性，因此稱為名詞子句，它的作用和一般名詞一樣， 可作為主詞、受詞或主詞補語。作S:That she answered wrong is quite obvious.= It is quite obvious that she answered wrong. 作O:John thought that he would miss the date. (此that 當受詞時 ，可省略) 作SC:My suggestion is that we can go shopping together. (B)關係代名詞或是關係副詞( when , where, why)引導的字句稱為關係子句，在句中作為形容詞，修飾關代前面的名詞，所以又叫作形容詞子句。要有兩個要件：1.前面要有先行詞。2.在所引導的形容詞子句中，需作句子的主詞、受詞或補語。 that雖可用來指人或事物，如:He thanked the farmer who/ that helped him.The comic book which/ that is under the drawer is hers. 但使用that的有以下的限制：(a)關代前面有介系詞或有逗點的非限定關係子句時，不可用that。　This is a house which/that I live in. =This is a house in which I live.≠This is a house in that I live. (b)先行詞為all, few, everything, anything, nothing、序數詞或最高級形容詞…等時，必須用that。All that matters is happiness and hope. (c)　若主要子句是以which 或who開頭，避免混淆不清，最好用that引導。　Who was the boy that she was with yesterday?
