英文 點解要用was

Be 的現在式是 is, am, are; 過去式是 was, were.

He, she, it 現在式用 is; 過去式用 was.
I 現在式用 am; 過去式用 was.
You, we, they 現在式用 arre; 過去式用 were.

現在式當然是指現在或時常發生的事; 過去式是指以前發生的事。

而 I am happy 是我很高興; I was happy 是過去式. 若是 I hope I were happy 則是我希望我會高興.

i was happy is 錯的，因爲was是過去的，i was happy=我之前開心，代表他死了

is / am / are ...... (present tense)
was / were .........( past tense).

You never say .. " I was a boy" you say " I am a boy" but you can say " When I was a boy, I ..........."

was 是過去式, 一定用於講過去的事情.

eg.
" I was so happy with you last night"
" At that time I was the chairman of the English Club. "
" I was going to ........... yesterday. "
