labrador - how much food (again)?

can anyone out there who has ROYAL CANIN Labrador 30 feed tell me how many nuggets there is in a standard cup measure
so that i can work out if i'm under or over feeding my 15 month old lab (who is a tad fat - gets 2 hours walk every day).

thanks

I'm not american so i have no idea what a 'cup' means - for me it's tiny. Royal Canin stuff for labradors - in a gold bag - it's big chunky nugget things with a hole in the middle logic dictates the instructions on the side of the bag suck so i'm asking for advice which i will then assess based on my gut feel and experiences thanks people the question is 'how many 'nuggets' in a 'cup'

If your dogs gets that much exercise and is still a "tad fat", it is over fed so feed it less. The number of nuggets in a cup doesn't matter, just feed your dog less food.

A cup is 8 fluid ounces or 236 millilitres. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to count the nuggets each time I feed the dog. But no one can tell you exactly how much to feed. Every animal is a bit different, you haven't said how much the dog now weighs and how much you think it should weigh, and the estimates on the bags of food are just that, estimates or suggestions about how much is appropriate depending on activity level, age, and other factors. I find they're usually pretty generous and my dogs usually eat less than what the bag says they should get. If the dog is overweight, simply reduce the amount of food it gets by 10 or 15% until it gets to a better weight. If it gets too thin, feed a bit more.

Do you mean Royal Canin's Babydog 30 formula? I can't find anything else like what you are saying.

I'm confused. Why do you want to know how many "nuggets" are in a standard cup measure. Why don't you count yourself since you have the food?

If you think your dog is overweight, cut back the amount of food she is fed. What does the vet say? She should be going in for shots next week anyways. Ask then.

HEre is the feeding guide for the Babydog 30 formula: http://www.royalcanin.ca/diets/maxi.php?diet=23&lang=en

One cup holds 8 fluid oz. Im not sure of the weight of the dog food so I cant give it to you in grams. Think of it this way...a standard "British" pint glass is 20 oz so it would roughly hold 2 1/4 c of food.

Logic dictates you should contact the producers of your dog food and ask them as any answer given by the yahoos on here will be inferior. Your second option would be measuring yourself how many nuggets there are in a standard cup. It wouldn't take very long, you fill up a cup and then pour them out onto a flat surface and count them. Besides that, I'm sure your lab will be fine, they are fine dogs.

There is no hard and fast rule about how much to feed. It all depends on how fast your dog absorbs the goodies and how much exercise he gets. If he walks 2 hours/day andis still a tard fat he is overfed.

If he is too hungry to have less, how about feeding him the same amount per day but more frequently.
