If it is not mites, it could just as easily be fleas. You can get a single dose of Frontline or Advantage Spot Flea Treatment for really cheap, around $10. One treatment lasts a whole month. You can get this at any veterinary office. You don't need to make an appointment or pay for a vet visit to get it, you just walk in and buy it from them. Make sure you get Frontline or Advantage, most of the other brands do not work & can even harm your pet.

Also, at the mere possibility of it being mites... you could just call around vet offices and ask if they would sell you the ear drops to treat for mites. Most of them will sell you the ear drops (which are very cheap) without having to pay for an appointment.

If it's not fleas or mites, it could be allergies. Try to switch his food to a GRAIN-FREE brand, such as EVO Small Bites, Wellness CORE, Orijen, Legacy or Taste Of The Wild.

Here is 411 on your dogs itchy ears. You may not be seeing black sludge that ear mites like to create but that does not mean that they are there. The other possibility may be yeast infection, however you will not know for sure unless you get the ears swabbed and looked at by a Vet. If your are dealing with the possible yeast infection you don't want to put home remedies in the ear you may make it worse. The next time he itches pay close attention to weather he itches in the ear or behind the ear, this will give your vet a better idea what it is, then call the Vet they may have an over the counter ear solution, called oticalm.

It is pretty rare for a dog to pick up ear mites unless it is in a situation where other pets have ear mites. You can try cleaning the ears with a commercial ear cleaner. Do not use alcohol, peroxide or water. All three are irritating to the ear and can lead to infection.

feels like a bacterial or fungal ear an infection. Take the pooch to the vet. and promises up poking round attempting to bathe it out. dogs do not precisely allow you to comprehend at the same time as they have an ear an infection, so the eardrum ought to rupture before you be conscious, a lot a lot less complicated than it ought to with a human. If the vet says that's a ordinary element of grooming on your dogs, then with the help of all ability, bypass back to cleansing it interior the cautioned style. yet when it starts to searching diverse, or you never had to scrub the ears before, you want to work out the vet and locate out what's the right ingredient of do.

Unfortunately unlesss you get the dog to a vet for a swab you won't know what's causing the infection. It could be yeast or bacteria or a combination of both.

You can't treat it if you don't know what it is you need to treat.
