英文tense EASY URGENT!~

1.I’m glad you enjoyed my book and that it _inspired_(inspire)you to look at your own direction in life. (plus explanation)
2.For me, I_have decided_(decide) to turn over a new left after getting ‘0’ marks in the public exam. (plus explanation)

句一用enjoyed不是指你當時enjoy已經過去，而是因為這句是我"I"回答/回應你之前對我說你所enjoy我的書並且受鼓勵了。所以past tense是指我在過去(之前)收到你對牛我說的話(enjoy my book, inspire you)。

句二我認為用present perfect tense，因為句式後部是after考試getting零分，所以前部便是相應地當下「已經決定」。但我不知甚麼是turn over a new left?是否抄錯一些字。

有選擇當然容易得多：
b. decided.
因為內容是「因為你考試得零蛋，所以你「做了」一項決定。」

不是was deciding
因為不是:
1. 在過去的一件延續進行中的事情。decide沒有「決定進行中」這狀態的，雖然你會看過I am deciding這句字，但意思是我未決定=考慮中/思量中。
2. 記錄/表達兩件同時發生的事，一件(用past continuous)是背景情況/佔時間長些，另一件是在一刻中發生/出現的情況。當111時，222出現。原句考試零蛋在先，決定「改變」在後，所以不是。
3. 寫故事/記錄/報告一件進行中的事情。內容理由跟1一樣，加上原句是第一身，不是客觀報告/作故事。
